oxycodone is the same as OxyContin its just a generic name for OxyContin
I take oxycodone 10mg ir and oxycodone 10mg with tylenol (percocet). I was away from home unfortunately and I took one of my sister's 15mg oxycodone er (no tylenol). Will the er show up on a drug screen any different than than the oxycodone ir and the percocet?
I don't know
I've been on 10 mg oxycodone immediate release every 6 hrs or as needed for break thru pain. Also OxyContin 60 mg extended release twice daily. I'm doing well on this script as long as I am not very active. If I try to do normal work or exercise my pain levels increase and I can't function. I need to exercise and move around more. Should I ask for a higher dosage, different medications, or just give up on trying to live a normal pain less life. Help please.
Talk to your doctor, I did and he adjusted my mgs and I have been doing little exercising but I feel good after I lowered my Oxycottin and upped my breakthrough but I am not sure if that is for you that is why I asked the doctor
I have pain blocks monthly. I am figuring you do also. If not do it I also have to take a good amount of pain medication but the blocks help me get through work. Good luck hope you find something that helps
You need to be able to function. I take 15 mg Oxycontin X2 day. I take it with a 500 mg Tylenol, which makes a huge difference. If you are taking the meds as prescribed, and it doesn't make you high or "knock you out", or you don't feel nauseated if you don't take it, you truly need the narcotic and you are not a "junkie", according to the wonderful and caring PCP that I use.
Oxycodone do not have Tylenol. It is Percocet to have the Tylenol mixed with oxycodone. Oxycotin is a Time release of Oxycodone with no Tylenol
Thanks! I was wondering that myself. Im on oxycodone 30ml. Been on it a few years. Truly helps my pain so that I can get up and funtion. :)
Thank you for the answers. I found that
On the panel, it does check per each med prescribed.
This can detect the amount in my system in order to insure proper dosing. In these days and times, we have the testing to insure that no abuse is taking place.
In a way , it's ashame. Abuse is a scarey subject. Thanks again.
I take oxycodone and it doesn't have tylenol in it. they have too have a specific test for oxycodone since it doesn't show up as an opiate. I don't know about oxycontin, I have been asking the same question, only i'm prescribed oxycodone and I wanna take an oxycontin so II can sleep longer than 4 hrs. oxycodone lasts 4-6hrs, the other person was wrong. my doc sends tests to the lab. if it is only a dip test you will be fine. How did it turn out?
Hey perscribed meds,
They are the same. Oxycontin is the brand name and oxycodone is the generic. Oxycontin is generally prescribed without acetominophen while oxycodone is generally prescribed with. The will show the same on a drug panel. They last in your system for upto 5 days after your last dose depending on your frequency, strength and personal metabolism.
Laurie
One is timed released the roxy has no tylenol and oxycontin is timed released. How long will the timed release show up for my is and will the focus be the same?
Even with the time released oxycontin, the time to detection is upto 5 days from the last dose depending on frequency, strength and your metabolism. They both will show as the same opiate in drug screen.
Thank you.
Sorry, Laurie, but you've been misinformed.
Neither Oxycodone nor Oxycontin are "brand" or "generic" names; they are the names of the drugs themselves.
Oxycodone is just that: Oxycodone, the active ingredient in the medication. On its own, (without Tylenol), it is just known as "Oxycodone", and it comes in different strengths.
When Oxycodone is combined with Tylenol, the medication is called Percocet.
Oxycontin is time-released Oxycodone, and it does not contain Tylenol.

they are the same, oxycontin has no tylenol, oxycodone has tylenol. both same drug. leanne
Thank you. I know one is timed released. How long does the timed released oxycontin last ? If I take my oxycodone will it be the same on a drug panal? Thanks so much...
Supposedly, oxycontin lasts 12 hours and oxycodone lasts from 6-8 hours if you're lucky.
Peace.
I beg to differ oxycodone has NO Tylenol. If it did it would be called Percocet. Oxycodone has nothing but oxycodone... no Tylenol!
All oxycodone does not have Tylenol in them I believe it depends on the milligram and color I take the pink ones they do not have Tylenol in them so that's not all true
,all oxycodone does not have Tylenol in them I have tents they're pink and they do not have Tylenol in those I think it depends on the milligram and the color so that answer is only half true
