For Pain "I have recently had to stop using the Fentanyl patches, after several years of good results. But my body finally said it had had enough. So, I tried Kadian, which stopped working after a week or so. Now I am on Opana ER, which seems to do a fair job, but it feels too much like Demerol. I take 20mg twice a day, and was using 80mg twice of Kadian, 100mg of Fentanyl every 48 yours. I wish they would make Fentanyl in a pill form. I have no "woosy" feeling with it. I have 5 ruptured discs in my lower back, as well as stenosis, etc. I have tried surgeries, stimulator, etc. "

For Pain "I was in a car wreck about 2.5 years ago, which broke the Harrington rods I had in my back for scoliosis since the age of 15. I am now 28 and feel like I am 80! I have been on Tylenol 3s & 4s, Vicodin 10mg, Oxycodone 15mg, and then Kadian finally helped me. I have been on the Kadian 30mg twice a day for about 9 or 10 months. It gave me hope, although it does take a couple weeks to start to really kick in. No high feeling, and really takes the base pain away. Soon I will have the rod taken out and that probably wont help the C2,3,4 in my neck and the L5 and S1 discs that are smashed and pushing into my spinal cord. But I can give my 5 year old a bath, walk the dog, etc. It is about $383 per month insurance covering the cost! Saved my life!"

For Pain "Great Medication. Cancer patient. Have had a lot of pain since surgery. Tried numerous medicines. Kadian 100 mg every twelve hours eliminates the pain which was stopping me from having a normal life. "

For Pain "I have severe back pain due to an injury that eventually resulted in three lower back surgeries. I have been on Kadian for a couple of years and I do not find it very effective at all. I am in misery most of the time."

For Chronic Pain "I started taking Kadian for a couple of days then swapped back to my ms-contin until my next drs .visit to see what we need to do about the dosage .I started with the 10mg-ER which was good through the day but had 'the jitters' most of the time which I didn't like then it only lasted for maybe 10 hours & then started to detox & was awake the biggest part of the night until I was so tired I fell asleep around 4 a.m.The next day I took it again about 8 a.m.then took a second dose around 7 p.m. then stayed awake all night with 'the jitters' until 5 a.m. So I changed back to my 30mg ms-contin until I can see my dr. Needless to say, I wasn't very happy with the change so I'm hoping for something better or I'll just have to pay $80 a month for the ms-contin"

For Chronic Pain "I have been using Kadian for at least 9 years now. I haven't ever had the need to increase dosage, unlike Oxy etc. My pharmacy wholesaler stopped carrying Kadian a few months ago and I have been sick ever since. Headaches, loose bowels and G.I. distress. I am searching for Kadian without much luck."

"I started taking Kadian about a year ago for spinal stenousis. I was taking 30mg once a day. After a fall, they increased it to 2 a day. It works wonderfully for me. If I miss a day (and I do occasionally if I am not hurting) I pay for it the next day. It seems to leave my body fast so I try to take it even if I am feeling no pain now. I take Lortab 7.5 twice a day in between the Kadian but only as needed. I went today for my 2nd epidural. I hope this works."

For Chronic Pain "I was recently switched to this from butrans patches and 1mg hydro morphine. I have lots of digestive issues as well as lupus. I take this one time a day. I dump the inside of the pill into a small glass of water and take it that way (nurse showed me this). It is a godsend! I can take 1 pain pill a day and it helps give me a life back. I just started. So I’m only on 30mgs. I go up every 2 weeks. This medication has no side effects like some I’ve been on. And only 1 pill a day I love!"

For Chronic Pain "After an MVA when I was 17 and having been on many opiates to combat compression fractures, muscle damage, and arthritis in my neck, shoulder, and back, I was put on Kadian approximately 2 and a half years ago. While doing further research I took notice that one major side-effect was not mentioned. While helping with the pain, the drug made my nose run uncontrollably which has been making my life unbearable and I'm not the only one who has noticed. As a result, I am going to make the switch to Suplocade."

For Pain "I have fibromyalgia and this is the only thing that I have found any relief from the pain. I am so glad I found a doctor who believes in pain management."

"Kadian is probably the strongest narcotic pain reliever I have used, maybe equal to fentanyl. If all else fails this stuff should do the trick."
