What is Rydapt used to treat?

Rydapt (midostaurin) is an oral, multi-targeted kinase inhibitor used to treat acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and systemic mastocytosis.

Rydapt is used in the treatment of newly diagnosed adult AML patients who have a specific genetic mutation called FLT3. The FLT3 mutation is detected in blood or bone marrow samples with a diagnostic called the LeukoStrat CDx FLT3 Mutation Assay. Rydapt is used in combination with the chemotherapy medicines cytarabine and daunorubicin.

Rydapt is also used in adults with certain types of rare blood disorders (aggressive systemic mastocytosis, systemic mastocytosis with associated hematological neoplasm or mast cell leukemia).
